Scout

A young girl of nine (played by an adult 19-25). Scout is courageous, forthright and inquisitive.

Jean Louse

(40-50) Scout grown older reliving a dramatic time in her youth.

Jem

(19-25) Scout's older brother (played by an adult 19-25)

Atticus

(50-60) An attorney. Quietly impressive, reserved, civilized. He always does the right thing.

Calpurnia

(40-50) Black, proud and capable. She raised the motherless Sout and Jem. She is self-educated with high standards.

Dill

(19-25) Friend to Jem and Scout. Jem's age. Wise and sophisticated beyond his years.

Maude Atkinson

(40-50) A lovely, sensitive woman; wise and compassionate.

Walter Cunningham

(50-60) A farmer who shares the prejudice of this time and place.

Reverend Sykes

(50-60) Black minister; imposing with strong presence.

Heck Tate

(50-60) Town Sheriff. Fair; does his duty without favor.

Stephanie Crawford

(any) Neighborhood gossip.

Nathan Radley

(50-60) Boo Radley's brother. Laconic.

Boo Radley

(30-40) A recluse who has not been outside his home in 15 years.

Mrs. Dubose

(60+) A sickly and elderly woman; angry, bitter.

Judge Taylor

(50-60) A public prosecutor trying to convict Tom. Cruel and hurtful although not completely convinced Tom is guilty.

Bob Ewell

(50-60) Mayella's father. Lives in the town dump. Rageful and paranoid.
